Looking for another rare set? Marco will search with you
The LEGO Fabuland Tribute set (40506) was designed by LEGO House's own Master Builder, Stuart Harris, and LEGO Senior Designer, Markus Rollbühler, in collaboration with the LEGO Idea House history team. The set includes the iconic characters Edvard the Elephant, Karlo the Crow, Line the Lamb and Kalle the Crocodile from the original product line from the 80s, now recreated according to more modern LEGO design principles.
The story of LEGO® Fabuland LEGO Fabuland was introduced in 1979 as a completely new type of LEGO set. Fabuland was the first product line to combine the LEGO System in Play with creative storytelling. As with other LEGO sets, the Fabuland sets came with building instructions, but the instructions also contained a short story in which the characters built the set, and of course they had fun while doing it.
The building instructions for this year's exclusive set are no exception and include illustrations as part of the instructions. These are based on the original drawings by LEGO House's Associate Master Builder, Didac Perez . There is a separate building guide for each character, so you can build the four characters one by one, alone or with friends or family. Fabuland was produced for ten years, until 1989. Now the series is being given new life for a limited time with this year's exclusive set, which is a tribute to storytelling through the iconic Fabuland characters.
The set celebrates the magic of storytelling, which Fabuland was the first LEGO set to introduce. The iconic characters each have their own backstory, which has emerged over time in various media, such as animated series, books, comics, etc
