LEGO BrickLink The Art Factory - 910054

Welcome to The Art Factory, a unique place for art, music and dance, and above all a celebration of creativity.

This renovated industrial-style building has an exhibition space on the ground floor, where an intensive programme of exhibitions takes place all year round.

On the first floor the music academy and the ballet studio share the space. The second floor houses a painting academy and a photo studio.

On the roof of the building, stylish opening events are held, where visitors can enjoy a beautiful view over the city. The working glass lift makes every space in the building accessible.

The Art Factory does not refer to one specific building, but contains details and elements inspired by the many industrial lofts you see in New York and other American cities.

• Fold-out building design: The building can be displayed either open or closed. In both cases the exterior looks complete and detailed, as if it had been designed without this dual function.
• Working lift: The lift works with a mechanism that lets you move it up, down or stop it at any floor you like.
• Industrial windows: An industrial window technique with roller shutter segments has been used.

As a LEGO fan designer, the idea of a repurposed building has always appealed to me. In this case an old factory building has been converted into an arts centre where a variety of art activities take place on different floors.

Four years ago I submitted the first version of this design to LEGO Ideas under the name 'The Art Centre'. It successfully reached 10,000 supporters, but was ultimately not selected in the review phase. Now I have rebuilt it completely, with many improvements in both appearance and functionality. For this Series 6 I redesigned and improved the columns, pavements and various parts from the Series 5 version. In the final model you will also find three new storage rooms beneath the ground floor, intended for an extra series of alternative artworks.

This set consists of 2566 pieces and includes 10 minifigures.
